A little tidbit about a little ditty.

So I got a lot of things on my mind. Mostly good. Which is pleasant. But, I had an awsome weekend. And I still got tommorow off. Man the perks of the long weekend every other week is freaking awsome. I highly recommend it if you can get it. It makes doing some of the boring stuff I have to do at my job worth it. But, none of this is what I want to talk about so let us try and transition smoothly into topic of discussion.

Okay, so I'm no good at transitions. So I'm just going to jump in. I've found this song the other day at work. It came on Pandora. The internet radio station I listen to while working. I didn't really notice it much at first except to give it a thumbs up on their rating system. But, it isn't a song that automatically reaches out and demands your attention. It is simple and subtle. The song title is Sommerville by the Pernice Brothers. They have a myspace page and it is currently on my Myspace page if you wanna check it out. (Maybe one day I'll take the time and learn how to actually post links.)
I've been listening to this song ad-nauseum the last few days. I am bordering percariously on destroying my listening experience by overplaying it.

The song is an ode to growing up and letting go of the cynicism and rebellion of you youth. The opening line has me "I'm sick of the cynical, I'm sick of the fashion show, the vapid and overblown". It kinda puts in perspective were I am in my life. I am tired of all that myself. Trying to be something you are not. Finding all the fault in yourself and world. Instead of seeing those simple things. The happy times. Letting all that heaviness of your past slide off your back. And just embracing who you are today and all that you have to live for.

Well thats my two cents for the evening. Check out the song. I bet it isn't for everyone but, it was perfect for me at this time in my life.
